Multicultural Independence Day Celebration 2026

The Multicultural Independence Day Celebration is an event that brings together people from diverse cultural backgrounds to celebrate Finland's Independence Day, promote multiculturalism and strengthen a sense of community and belonging.

In previous years, the celebration has been organised by Moniheli, helping establish it as an opportunity for people from different backgrounds to come together and celebrate Finland's diversity. In 2026, AFAES is taking the lead in organising the celebration, continuing this tradition while creating new opportunities for community participation and collaboration.

This year's event is organised by AFAES in cooperation with Moniheli and the City of Helsinki. Together, the partners aim to create an inclusive celebration that recognises cultural diversity, encourages dialogue and highlights the contributions of people from different backgrounds to Finnish society.
